- Texans offensive line troubles became exposed early on. QB Tom Savage fumbled twice in the first half. No meaningful adjustments or play calls were used to try to disrupt the timing of Jaguars’ rush, such as screens or draws.
- Doug Marrone and the Jaguars executed an excellent offensive and defensive game plan. QB Blake Bortles looked smooth the entire night and the offensive line opened up large running lanes for RB Leonard Fournette. Defensively, the Jaguars’ game plan shined as well with the defense finishing the night with 10 sacks and mostly shutting down star Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins.
- Bill O’Brien and Texans salvaged a good in-game adjustment in the second half by putting in rookie QB Deshaun Watson who threw one touchdown and drove the Texans into the redzone before throwing an interception.
