- This was a hard fought game, and one that tested the Rams’ ability to come from behind. The Rams have been a good front running team all year, amassing big early leads and cruising to most of their victories.
- The Rams got away from RB Todd Gurley a bit in this game, and insisted on staying aggressive with the deep downfield shots that have been successful for them this season. But the Vikings have a potent pass rush as well as a competent back end and it wasn’t a favorable plan for the Rams on this day.
- Vikings OC Pat Shurmur continues to do an excellent all around job guiding an offense that has to make adjustments all season due to injuries. In this game, the Vikings broke the game open on a 65-yard TD pass from QB Case Keenum to WR Adam Thielen. This score put the Vikings ahead 21-7, the first two-score lead in the game. On this play, Shurmur isolated Thielen, and Thielen turned a short route into a long catch and run score. Shurmur also utilized RB LaTavious Murray well in the Vikings 4 minute offense to close out the game.
