• The Vikings executed the type of game plan that enabled much of their success in the 2017 season–a very impressive defensive performance complemented by a solid supporting role from the offense. The Vikings defense looked stellar in this matchup and seemed to have an answer for everything the Jets offense tried to do, including quick screens and misdirections/jet sweeps. Because they appeared exceedingly well prepared for this matchup, Minnesota earned a score of 9 for game planning.
• The Jets had a somewhat lackluster performance, but it is difficult to pin much of it on the coach, at least as an observer. New York turned over the ball four times in this matchup, and it’s nearly impossible to effectively execute a game plan in the NFL when turning the ball over multiple times.
