We’re always playing with our numbers here at HCR, and now we’re armed with data mined from our Head Coach Ranking algorithm going back to the 2017 season.
That’s a decent base of data – admittedly, a larger data set always is better – but it’s at least a start.
One gaming play we’re looking into is the Super Bowl 55 winner, and how we might use HCR to guide our play.
Here’s the May 12 Super Bowl Futures odds from BetOnline:
As you can see, the same odds are applied to multiple teams. For example, both the Chiefs and Ravens are listed at +750, and the Bucs, 49ers and Saints are grouped at +1200.
And 6 teams are grouped at +2500.
But let’s say you want to play only one team within those groupings? What’s your own personal algorithm?

We’re going to use our final 2019 Regular Season HCR to suggest our plays for Super Bowl 55.
We’ll make one play for ourselves from each odds grouping using this methodology, and where there are ties, we’ll suggest additional plays. We will simply suggest the higher rated head coach from each line where there are multiple teams grouped together.
